About Me
Radical Radiator Repair

I had a car a few years ago that seemed to always have one problem after another. Finally, I got tired of paying for repair after repair, knowing that I was just going to end up paying again in a month or so. I wanted to save up for a better car, but I couldn’t do it if I was always paying the mechanic. So the next time that my car started overheating, I decided to fix it myself. I bought some tools, checked some books on car repair out of the library, looked up answers to my questions online, and pulled parts from old cars at the junkyard. And eventually, I fixed it. You can fix your own car problems too. I started this website to help people who are trying to learn how to be their own mechanics. If I can do it, you can do it.

Four Custom Car Mods That Will Set Your Custom Ride Apart From All The Rest

Bobbie Jones

If you are a car enthusiast, there are not a lot of things that can be done to cars that someone has not done before you. This makes it even more challenging to do something original for your custom ride, but there are still a few things that can be done. Things like putting a diesel in a classic muscle car or swapping an engine and suspension in an import for Corvette parts from sites like http://keenparts.com/ will set your car apart from others. Here are four customizations that will take your modified car to the next level:

1. Back To The Future With Gas To Turbo Diesel Mods

Diesels can be found in many cars, but they are less common in classic muscle cars. These cars also have enough space in the engine compartment to fit large engines. An ideal space to put large turbo diesels that are usually installed in heavy duty trucks. With these large engines, these cars will also sound like a car that will take you to the future. The diesel has a unique sound, and a diesel mod for a muscle car will give you something unique to take to the track.

2. Lighting Speed With V8 Import Engine Swaps

Muscle cars are not the only cars that can have an engine swap to get a different sound and look. Imports can also have the engines swapped for V8 engines to give them more power and something special.  Many imports can have the stock 4 cylinder engines swapped for small V8s. Since these cars are so light, a V8 swap will make them quick and dangerous on the track.

3. Unconventional Car Suspension Modifications

The engine is not the only thing that you may want to modify on your car. If you have a car with a mediocre stock suspension, you may want to consider adapting your car for a suspension that handles turns a little better. You can get many stock Corvette parts that can be adapted to fit in many different model cars, and give them a suspension that is meant to handle turns on a racetrack.

4. Tuned 4 Cylinders In Classic Muscle Cars

You may think of a muscle car as being a beast with a large V8 engine, but they can be just as powerful with a tuned V8. Stock 4 cylinder classics can have a lot of power with a few modifications. When doing this, you may also want to consider changing some of the body parts for carbon fiber parts to lighten the car up, especially if it is a larger car with a lot of steel.

If you want to modify your custom ride with some of these ideas, you can use Corvette parts to do many of these mods, and you will have a complete car that is ready to handle turns on the track or street. Contact a parts dealer to get all the parts you need to do some of these modifications to your car.
